Overview[]

This page is about categorizing the NaviComp Waypoints for the Space Telemetry Headquarters, to make it easier to track objects. Please use the image below as reference (keep in mind the Y-coordinate is inverted).

Orbit classifications

1. Near-HOM Waypoints (NHW)

Inside the green quadrilateral are Near-HOM waypoints, where frequently operated stations are usually located.

So, STA and MSS are examples of Near-HOM Stations.

Range: From approx. 500, 500 to 2500, -500

2. Inner Sollian Waypoints (ISW)

Inside the yellow quadrilateral are Inner Sollian Waypoints, which are waypoints close to the sun. Further inside is the Boil Line, which begins at 500 NCu from the sun in all directions. All water boils and evaporates into gas once they crossed the line towards the sun.

Range: From approx. -1200, 1250 to 1250, -750

3. Inner Interplanetary Waypoints (IIW)

Inside the dark violet quadrilateral (which has some parts extending out of the chart, not shown) are Inner Interplanetary Waypoints, which are for stations positioned elsewhere.

An example of an Inner Interplanetary Station is the ADS, which is positioned outside of the Near-HOM area for its role of detecting Near-HOM asteroids.

Range: From approx. -2500, 2500 to 2500, -2500

4. Middle Interplanetary Waypoints (MIW)

Between the dark violet border of the Inner Interplanetary space and the grey border going out to Outer Interplanetary Space, lies the Middle Interplanetary Waypoints. In the middle of the area is the Freeze Line, where all water in space would freeze instantly from that line outward.

5. Outer Interplanetary Waypoints (OIW)

Outside of the gray quadrilateral with a range of approximately -3500, 3500 to 3500, -3500 is Outer Interplanetary Space.

'6. 'Termination Shock Area

From a boundary of 10,000 NCu from SOL, the Termination Shock will take effect. It is what causes spacecraft to rumble and shake due to the super gravitoelectromagnetic fields ending somewhere there.

7. Energy Cutoff Area

After passing the 1,000,000 NCu distance mark from SOL, spacecraft will experience not just shaking, but jittering as well. Interstellar Particles interact with SOL's magnetic field causing more disturbance and interference than in the Termination Shock.

8. Interstellar Space

After passing the 2,500,000 NCu distance mark from SOL, all Sollian magnetic particles will be trace, and interstellar particles will cause spacecraft to shake A LOT WORSE. No spacecraft has withstanded the pressure, but will be ever a probe one day to meet another star system?
