The new Moon Base construction is now complete. It contains a pod for crew accomodation, 2 cargo bays for storage and a landing pad for the second pod to transfer supplies and crew from the moon base to the support station. The support station is there to refill the batteries and the oxygen for the base. It also serves as a refueling station for nearby vessels. Any info recorded from the base is transported to LSO by the support station. Here is the bleuprint for the Moon Base Support station and the views of the complete base + station.

The new support station is definately and upgrade from the old one, and it should allow higher transfer rates from the base to the LSO. Also any medical injuries are treated aboard the LSO, as the MBS has no medical facilities
