Gemini Capsule and Service Module

The Gemini Capsule is a small manned crew capsule. It contains 3 Cargo spaces, which come pre-loaded with one Battery, one Oxygen Tank, and Carbon Dioxide Scrubber.

The Gemini Capsule can be attached to a Gemini Service Module or a LOK Service Module at this time.

It can maneuver in all directions, but does not have a main engine. It can not dock to any other craft or modules due to not having any docking ports. It can perform Atmospheric entry and splash down on any planet with an atmosphere.

  • In the game, Gemini capsules are not equipped with docking hatches, and thus can not perform any docking maneuvers. In real-life, NASA equipped a few later Gemini capsules with docking mechanisms, to be used only for docking practice maneuvers. There was no actual interconnecting tunnel to allow crew or equipment transfers. However, due to mechanical problems, only two of the planned Gemini docking missions were successful.
  • An Agena unmanned practice docking module

No Gemini spacecraft ever docked to another Gemini, but they did successfully dock to unmanned practice "target module", the Agena Target Vehicle, sometimes though with unforseen complications.
  • It is possible to place an escape tower on the crew capsule. However, in real life, the capsule used ejection seats for a launch escape system.
  • It is the only crew capsule that floats on its side after it splashes down.
